FOOMA Japan (FJ) is currently one of the largest food exhibitions in the Asian region. The exhibitors come here to familiarize the fair visitors with the stages of food production: cultivation, collection of raw materials, purification, processing, product manufacturing, preparation for consumption, and packaging. Of course, most of these actions are performed automatically, although some products in Japan are still cleaned and prepared manually, such as fish and other seafood. By the way, you can buy frozen seafood in bulk on the Globy B2B platform. Usually, devices capable of detecting foreign substances and objects in the food mass attract a lot of attention at the exhibition. Such technologies make it possible to minimize the likelihood of contamination in food.
Cooling and freezing equipment plays an important role in the temporary storage of semi-finished products, minced meat, dairy products, etc. That is why many models of new high-capacity refrigerators and small freezers were presented at FJ. Some freezers can act as display cases; such models are often used in supermarkets and stores. Much attention was paid at FJ to the problems of waste disposal; the main task is to comply with international standards and preserve the environment. The main objectives of the exhibition are given below:
- getting to know the stages of food production;
- demonstration of new technologies;
- testing of refrigeration equipment;
- discussion of waste disposal issues;
- meetings, acquaintances, exchange of experience, etc.
FOOMA 2025 Fair

The last FOOMA exhibition was held from June 10th to 13th, 2025 and lasted 4 days. The venue was the Tokyo Big Sight, East Hall (Pavilions 1-8), Japan. The total area of the exhibition is 60 thousand square meters. Statistics show that this year, 1,000 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors have arrived at FJ. The exhibition space included a conference hall, a place for meetings and communication, an area for placing machines and equipment, a recreation area, and others. Each FJ exhibition has a theme, for instance, in 2025 the theme was “Taste the Future”, meaning that the primary focus was on innovative technologies that accelerate the food production process through smart solutions. AI and robotics are actively used in the food industry now, and a Start Up Zone has been organized at FJ, where innovations are demonstrated. Every year, the FOOMA Awards are presented at FJ. This award is given for achievements in the field of food production and processing. The award is usually given for innovations that facilitate human labor, and streamline and simplify the process.
Demonstration of Japanese Technologies

The exhibition takes place in the capital of Japan, so it is not surprising that FJ is a place where you can get acquainted with advanced Japanese technologies in the food sector. Japanese equipment means not only excellent performance, but also high safety standards. In 2025, the exhibition featured slicers with laser sensors for precise meat slicing, vacuum fryers, and more. The equipment could not only be studied, but also ordered for one’s enterprise. Japanese companies producing new food processing systems cooperate with many other enterprises around the world, supplying the latest equipment, characterized by its high reliability.
How to Visit the FOOMA Expo
Anyone can visit FJ. A new visitor management system was used at FOOMA 2025. Foreign participants registered online, then received an ID and could enter the exhibition area without any problems. We remind you that exhibitors must register separately by filling out a form with a description of the devices they want to show at the exhibition. The stand design is coordinated remotely. More detailed information can be found on the official FJ website, where new members are also registered. You can read more about the FOOMA exhibition, as well as other food-related events, on the Globy Platform in the “Food & Beverages” category.
